SCHOLASTIC IMPROVEMENT USING PROVEN TECHNIQUES
St. Charles Herald-Guide on February 13, 2002
As we all know, children today face many challenges during their education process,
both on the school campus and at home with friends and family. These circumstances
directly impact their academic success. While teaching students study skills can
help improve their test grades, holistic energetic balancing techniques can dramatically
enhance both performance and the overall quality of life experience of our youth on mental,
physical, emotional and spiritual levels. The techniques involve simply tapping with
the fingertips on specific acupressure points on the body and the use of affirmations.
As I mentioned in my weight loss article, the
techniques developed by Dr. Callahan were successfully demonstrated on the "
Regis and Kelly" show on January 3, 2002. This work is becoming widely accepted
and used by practitioners worldwide. My colleagues and I have created our own
unique routines for our clients.
The pressure
to perform well at school can be external (from parents, teachers, and peers) but
often students themselves create the intense pressure to excel that ironically, often
blocks their achieving top performance. They often face other emotional stresses
from broken, sometimes abusive, family settings and the ever-present challenges of
adolescent social interaction.
Certainly the events
of September 11 have added to students' already full bag of fears and anxiety, sometimes
even paralyzing their ability to perform at all in light of such trauma. The
tapping techniques can remove the blocks these situations create, empowering all students
to excel individually. This in turn can benefit an entire school system
(shifting overall test scores towards unprecedented academic excellence.)
Recently, I had the privilege of being the guest speaker
for 3 high school classes in which the students were preparing for the ACT. This
was exciting as the whole class tapped along working on their specific issues. I
even demonstrated successfully the weight loss blockages on several students with muscle
testing as verification. This evidence was indisputable of the effect of the
tapping techniques. I received many complimentary letters from students about
their experiences both during and after the class. I've had contact with a
few students since then and they informed me of their successes with the tapping
technique.
In late November, I worked
with a young student that was very nervous about an oral presentation to be performed
the next day. I am including the details of the session to show how different
aspects of a problem need to be handled separately. The first issue was that
the student did not want to give the presentation. The student tapped on the
side of the right hand continuously while repeating the affirmation "I deeply
and profoundly accept myself even though I don't want to give my
presentation" three times. The student then tapped in 4 different spots
while repeating "I don't want to give my presentation". After this
short routine the student felt better about giving the presentation, but there were
still more issues. The tapping sequence was utilized for the following aspects
of their fear and these affirmations were used: "…even though
I'm shy.", "…even though I'm embarrassed.",
"…even though my teacher always says to speak louder.", "…even
though I'm afraid that I might mess up.", "…even though I'm
nervous.", and "…even though I'm afraid my Power Point presentation
won't come up." After these short tapping sequences, the student
felt fine and confident about giving the presentation. Another recommendation
that was followed was to use the Valor essential oil on the bottom of the feet to
give courage and confidence. The student reported that the presentation went
great even though another teacher interrupted the class and her teacher did tell her
to speak louder. The grade received on the speech was a 98.
One of my clients happily called me to let me know
that he completed his toughest semester of school and used the techniques before and
during the tests. He received a 4.0 for the semester and thanked me for the
help.
I also recommend the use of
Clarity oil, which is a blend that contains Rosemary, Peppermint and other oils.
Studies have shown that mental accuracy is increased by 28% with the
inhalation of this blend. In my seminars, some students have mentioned that
their teachers give them peppermint candies during their test. These are
just some other simple natural techniques to use for scholastic improvement.
The color yellow is very good to assist with
clarity and concentration. I use my colored light kit with the yellow color
across my forehead when performing a lot of mental activities. I bring along
the device to classes that I attend and use the Clarity oil also.
All students can benefit from energetic balancing
techniques to remove any test anxiety or memory recall. This simple
self-administered practice is not
a substitute for studying, but a tool to empower the students to do their best.
As a father of three young girls, I have seen
the strong positive impact of the tapping in their lives. My personal
passion is to bring the full array of benefits of this system to the youth of
our community. The many components of the entire program can enhance the
full scope of their daily experience and teach simple but revolutionary skills
they can apply to any situation they encounter throughout their lives!
The state system is comparing schools
based on scholastic achievement test and these revolutionary techniques can
assist our students. The LEAP test is scheduled in March and I will be holding
classes at the local high schools for students. The schedule is posted
in the St. Charles Parish Community Education Spring schedule which was recently
mailed out.
I also hold free
introductory seminars explaining the entire system in detail.
